Mystery Guest Clinician 2021 REVEALED!

After a long wait, I can finally announce who my Mystery Guest Clinician for 2021 is...

Drum roll please!

In July 2021 I am proud to announce that Phil Haugen will be joining us all the way from Weatherford, Oklahoma! I have been working with Phil & his team for a little while now, however due to Covid, we have been waiting to see what was going to happen before we announced anything thing & got everyone's hopes up.

Some of you may know of Phil already through his popular podcast "Be your best Horsemanship", which is free to download on Spotify.

If you don't know about Phil & his methods, you are seriously missing out!

Let me help you get to know him....

ABOUT PHIL HAUGEN

Over 1,000 horses and 30 years of training experience has laid a solid foundation for proven success in the Haugen Horsemanship program. Raised in western North Dakota, Phil grew up knowing the value of a well-trained equine partner and the importance of creating a foundation built on trust and respect.

Phil competed in the calf roping, team roping, and saddle bronc riding in the PRCA for 20 years, and is now a PRCA Gold Card member. He has qualified for the PRCA Badlands Circuit Finals and the Prairie Circuit Finals in these respective events. Winning at both ends of the arena led Phil to win the coveted Linderman Award in 1989.

Phil has developed a unique training style based on his experiences in and out of the competition arena. His training program is focused on those fundamentals and his keen understanding of how to progress a horse in its training while mentally keeping that horse in a trusting, secure and confident state of mind. Phil and his family currently reside in Weatherford, Oklahoma. He continues to compete in rodeo and roping events while maintaining a full training roster and clinic schedule.

TRAINING PHILOSOPHY

Phil’s philosophy is to train through understanding and that starts with a simple, common sense approach. Building a solid foundation to help each horse reach its full potential by focusing on effective and proven techniques that help horses to understand the response you are asking for, which in turn builds their confidence and yields success.

This approach has resulted in more than $1,000,000 in Equistat earnings, won by the horses that have been a part of the Phil Haugen Horsemanship program. These horses are not limited by discipline or age and have excelled in major barrel racing events, tie-down roping, futurities, derbies and WNFR qualifications. Confident, meaningful communication, and proper horsemanship can allow any horse and rider the opportunity to achieve their optimal individual potential.

Learn more about Phil’s training philosophy on the Be Your Best Horsemanship podcast.

WHAT TO EXPECT AT THE CLINIC

Phil Haugen Horsemanship Clinics are designed to enhance fundamental horsemanship skills for a variety of disciplines, including: barrel racing, team roping, calf roping, penning, sorting, trail riding, and more.

Phil Haugen’s clinics cover the Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3 exercises that are the foundation of his training program that has produced over $1,000,000 in Equistat earnings in the past decade.

Phil welcomes those students who have a “problem horse.” Everyone deals with challenges from time to time, and Phil is ready to teach you how to communicate effectively with your horse to resolve these issues.

Students can expect to learn and practice skills, such as:

– Lateral softness, vertical softness and collection
– Softness in the ribcage
– Eliminating stiffness and elevation of a horse’s head in a run
– Letting your horse move out naturally while maintaining proper collection
– Smooth stops, turnarounds, lead departures, and turns
– Controlling your horse’s hindquarters
– Setting your horse up for a lead change
– Building your horse’s confidence and reinforcing good habits

Phil will have clinics at 2 Queensland venues while he is here. The first clinic will be run at Dalby, QLD on the 17th & 18th of July. The second will be at Charters Towers on the 24th & 25th of July. These dates are pending restrictions of course... But we will keep everyone that registers updated via email.

If you are wishing to sign up either venue, please be quick! Positions are limited & are exclusive to members & clients of Kellie Reinhardt Horsemanship & Barrel Racing until the 17/11/2021. After this time, it will be open to the public & positions won't last.

I hope that my latest video will help you find the motivation to achieve what you want to. We all have our own story, and we're all responsible for writing our own journey. My number one goal by running my clinics is to help riders become confident and achieve what they want, and that's all I worry about. I think my number one piece of advice for anyone, is surround yourself with people who care.
